The auditorium of the College of Medical Technology at Nalut University witnessed a scientific seminar on the morning of Monday, December 19, 2022, in commemoration of World AIDS Day. The seminar was organized by the National Center for Disease Control, Nalut branch, in collaboration with the College of Medical Technology.
On this occasion, Dr. Ghada Eissa Barqik delivered an awareness lecture on the factors contributing to the spread of this disease and ways to prevent it. Additionally, Dr. Nagy Al-Hadi Aburas, a faculty member in the Public Health Department at the college, presented a lecture on the role of diet in enhancing immunity against viral diseases.
The seminar was attended by the university president, Dr. Mohamed Masoud Qnan, the dean of the college, Professor Naji Saleh Wargh, a number of students, faculty members, and staff of the college, as well as the director of the libraries, publications, and publishing department at the university, Professor Ramadan Youssef Askar. Additionally, several volunteers from the Libyan Red Crescent and representatives from some civil society organizations in the city were present at the seminar.
At the conclusion of the seminar, certificates of appreciation were distributed to the participants. Additionally, staff from the National Center for Disease Control conducted medical tests within the college for a group of participants and students to screen for the HIV virus and hepatitis viruses.
