Director of the Language Center at Nalut University

The center was established in 2020 as an educational and training unit specialized in the field of teaching living languages, based on the decision of the Secretary of the General People's Committee for Higher Education (formerly) No. 23 of 2008 regarding the establishment of language centers at Libyan universities. After the establishment of Nalut University based on the decision of the President of the Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord No. ___ of 2019, the Language Center at Nalut University was established.

Providing opportunities for language learning for anyone who wants to learn and excel in language education and leadership in community service in this field.

  • Providing distinguished educational programs with various purposes, objectives, and levels in the field of education
  • Contributing to the advancement of society through the acquisition of linguistic knowledge

  • The center aims to enhance the language capabilities of Nalut University by developing programs for language courses based on the latest theories and methodologies in language teaching that can meet the needs of all university segments, including teaching assistants, faculty members, staff, and students.
  • Providing opportunities to meet the academic needs of English language courses for graduate students who are sent abroad and within the country 
  • Performing translation and linguistic consulting services
  • Providing training opportunities for language teachers at the primary and secondary education levels in collaboration with the education supervisors within the university's jurisdiction.
  • Providing opportunities for training in specialized language for specific purposes across various scientific fields
  • Working on conducting specialized research in the field of linguistic studies, indigenous languages, and rhyming identity

Tasks and Responsibilities:

The center director is appointed by a decision from the university president and is treated financially and administratively like the deans of colleges, and he undertakes the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • 1. Managing and handling the administrative, financial, and educational affairs of the center, in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations and the decisions issued by the center's council.
  • Representation of the center before local and foreign institutions.
  • Invitation for the Scientific Council to meet after determining the agenda items and approving its lecture and the decisions issued by it.
  • Approval of the periodic reports prepared by the administrative and financial affairs, regarding the workflow at the center.
  • 5. Nominating office managers and heads of administrative and scientific departments at the center, and referring them to the university president.
  • 6. Nomination of a legal advisor for the center to review all contracts and agreements entered into by the center, and to complete all legal procedures related to the center, with the appointment decision issued by the university president.
  • 7. Supervising the provision of the center's needs for laboratories, equipment, educational tools, and other necessary requirements.
  • 8. Follow up on the implementation of the university council's decisions regarding the educational and administrative processes at the center,
  • Proposal for the value of tuition fees and service returns.
  • 10. Any other responsibilities that may be assigned to him.

The Scientific Council of the Center

The council consists of:-

  • Center Director (Chairman)
  • Deputy for Scientific Affairs at the Center
  • Director of the Translation and Language Consulting Office (Member)  
  • Heads of the scientific departments at the center (member)
  • Head of the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Department (Member and Rapporteur)

Deputy for Scientific Affairs at the Center 

The Deputy for Academic Affairs at the center is appointed from among the faculty members by a decision issued by the university president, and is treated administratively and financially like the deans of colleges, and is responsible for performing the following tasks
