Mr. / President of Nalut University, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Masoud Qnan, participated in the celebration held this morning, Thursday, June 8, 2023, at the auditorium of the Higher Institute of Science and Technology in Nalut, on the occasion of World Environment Day, which falls on June 5 each year. World Environment Day has become one of the largest global platforms for environmental awareness, and this year, 2023, it focuses on finding solutions to pollution caused by plastic materials.
The celebration was organized by the Municipality of Nalut, represented by the "Tamsal Nalut Project," in collaboration with the Friends of the Environment and Heritage Association, in the presence of the head of the Nalut Municipal Guard branch, the head of the Friends of the Environment and Heritage Association, the head of the Solidarity Association for Sugar Friends in Nalut, several members of the Nalut Municipal Guard branch, a group of interested individuals, and activists from civil society organizations in the city, in addition to students and professors from the Higher Institute of Science and Technology in Nalut.
The celebration included visual presentations presented by each of the following: –
First presentation: - Title: - The health and environmental impacts of plastic products) presented by Engineer Ahmed Al-Kurdi (Vice President of the Consumer Protection Associations Union)
The second presentation: – titled: – (Microplastic particles in drinking water and their effects on human health) was presented by Dr. Ibrahim Al-Azizi (Director of the Radiation Measurement and Training Center)
The third presentation: It covered the activities of the "Tamsal Nalut Project: Yes to Life, No to Plastic," presented by Mr. Khaled Ali Barqik, a member of the Friends of the Environment and Heritage Association.
A children's drawing exhibition was also held on the sidelines of the celebration.
