Participations: “First Libyan Halal Summit” Workshop

Professor Muhammad Hamouda, a member of the faculty at the Faculty of Law, Al-Ruhaybat branch, participated on the morning of Saturday, May 13, 2023, in a workshop organized by the School of Medical Sciences at the Libyan Academy for Graduate Studies, titled "The First Libyan Summit for Halal" under the slogan "To Ensure Original Halal Consumer Products," which was held in the main auditorium of the Libyan Academy in Janzour, with a presentation titled "The Threat Posed by Medical Drugs and the Position of Libyan Legislation on Them."

The workshop was attended by the Acting President of the Libyan Academy, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy, the Dean of the School of Medical Sciences, the Head of the Clinical Nutrition Department, and a group of interested individuals, academics, and specialists in the field of clinical nutrition.

Ten scientific papers were presented at the workshop, including 4 main presentations and 6 short presentations.

Workshop Topics :-

1-Original halal materials.

2-The legality of halal and non-halal consumable materials.

3- Methods for detecting prohibited substances.

4-Update of the standard specifications for issues related to prohibited materials.

5-The role of regulatory agencies in identifying materials that are religiously prohibited.

The workshop aims to highlight the issue of halal materials included in the products, goods, and services consumed and used by individuals in Libyan society. The main objective of the seminar is to ensure the availability of authentic halal consumer goods and to eliminate fraud concerning halal materials and goods according to Islamic law.


The University President participates in the World Environment Day celebrations.
