The conference was attended by His Excellency the Minister of Labor and Rehabilitation, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labor and Rehabilitation, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labor for Training Affairs, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy, the Director of Project Management at the Libyan Iron and Steel Company, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Libyan Academy of Communications and Information Technology, the Director of the Libyan Authority for Scientific Research, the Director of the Center for Quality in Educational and Training Institutions, and the Assistant Director of the National Council for Economic and Social Development for Technical Affairs.
On the second day of the conference, Dr. Nagy Aburas presented a research paper titled (The extent of compliance with the Libyan standard specification for the data sheet), which was contributed to by Mr. Nagy Wargh, Ms. Asmaa Amro, Ms. Hanadi Khalifa, and Ms. Salsabil Ibrahim. The paper focused on studying the conformity of goods and food products sold in the markets and shops of the cities of Nalut and Tripoli with the data sheet for each product. A total of 298 samples were collected from beverages, dairy products, and packaged food items in metal, plastic, and glass containers, in addition to dairy products and biscuits, some of which were locally produced and others imported from 33 countries. The results of the study indicated the presence of many violations of what is stipulated in the standard specification for the data sheet No. 53 of the year 2020.
The study also revealed that some imported juices contain prohibited food additives in the form of colors such as E104 and E122. It also indicated that the barcode does not match the country of origin and that the information on the label is unclear, among other violations. The scientific committee of the conference recommended that this paper be presented to the Food and Drug Control Center to alert them to these violations that harm public health.
The conference generally aims to create a clean environment and sustainable development for the purpose of human well-being and happiness, with a focus on modern and advanced technologies in the fields of food industries, consumer goods, education and training, health, and other sectors.
