The second international conference on food and nutrition and the accompanying exhibition, under the slogan "Food Manufacturing and Safety and Consumer Protection: Between Reality and Ambition," commenced on the morning of Sunday, December 17, 2023, at the auditorium of the College of Medical Technology at Nalut University. The event is organized by Nalut University, the Libyan Association for Food and Nutrition, and the College of Medical Technology in Nalut.

A distinguished group of professors, experts, and specialists from various scientific centers and universities in Libya, the Arab world, and internationally are participating in the conference. The scientific committee of the conference received (80) scientific papers, of which (35) were accepted.

The opening ceremony of the conference was attended by the President of Nalut University, Dr. Mohamed Masoud Qnan, the University Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Chairman of the Board of the Libyan Association for Food and Nutrition, the Secretary General of the University, the Director of the Graduate Studies and Training Department, the Director of the Scientific Research and Consulting Center, the Director of Libraries and Publishing, the Dean of the College of Medical Technology in Nalut, several deans of the university's colleges, faculty members, students, staff of the College of Medical Technology, the Student Union, and a large gathering of those interested in the field of food and nutrition.
