The auditorium of Abdul Rahman Al-Busiri Secondary School in the municipality of Ghadames witnesses the opening of the second international scientific conference for economic and political studies.
Under the auspices of Nalut University, and with distinguished organization by the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at the university, the activities of the Second International Scientific Conference on Economic and Political Studies commenced on the evening of Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the auditorium of Abdul Rahman Al-Busiri Secondary School in the municipality of Ghadames.
The conference is held under the slogan: "Towards Achieving Sustainable Spatial Development," and will take place from October 29 to 30. Its launch was characterized by high-level preparatory and logistical efforts, reflecting the close cooperation between academic and civil institutions.
The significant cooperation of the Ghadames Municipality has yielded results in overcoming all obstacles and providing a suitable environment for welcoming delegations from Libya, Tunisia, and Algeria. The National Agency for Volunteer Efforts also played a prominent role in the field arrangements and receiving the delegations, reflecting the bright and organized face of the city.

The Mayor of Ghadames, Mr. Yaqoub Ibrahim Dawi: In his speech, he affirmed the municipality's full commitment to supporting such scientific gatherings that serve development issues, emphasizing the importance of partnership between institutions.
The President of Nalut University, Professor Dr. Mohamed Masoud Fannan, expressed his deep gratitude to all collaborating parties, describing this solidarity as a "model of effective partnership" that should be emulated in supporting scientific research. He specifically thanked the Higher Institute of Science and Technology in Ghadames for hosting the scientific sessions, the Ghadames Security Directorate, the Tourism Police and Antiquities Protection Office in Ghadames, and the Youth Volunteer Efforts Agency for their outstanding organizational role. He also extended his sincere thanks to the Ghadames City Development and Improvement Authority for their effective support, to the Education and Teaching Monitoring Office in Ghadames Municipality for their pioneering role, and to the Abdul Rahman Al-Busiri Secondary School for hosting the opening ceremony.
The Chairman of the Scientific Committee, Professor Dr. Hussein Salem Ghaith, we are honored to have researchers from the Republic of Tunisia and the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria participate, in a clear indication of the expansion of Arab and regional scientific cooperation in serving the issues of sustainable development.
The conference president, Dr. Elias Al-Barouni, affirmed that this conference comes to emphasize the leading role of Libyan universities in promoting scientific research and supporting the path of national development, as well as establishing a culture of constructive academic dialogue. He also extended special thanks to all media channels and journalists for their outstanding coverage of the conference activities and their commitment to conveying its message.
The scientific sessions of the conference will continue on the morning of Wednesday, October 29, at the Higher Institute of Science and Technology in Ghadames.
A number of deans of colleges and directors of departments at the university attended the conference events, along with several interested parties, members of the municipal council of Ghadames, and local sheikhs and dignitaries.
