Nalut University hosts an introductory workshop on the "Armonia Educational" program to enhance Euro-Mediterranean cooperation

In an important step towards enhancing international academic cooperation, an introductory workshop for the "Armonia Educational Program (Euro-Mediterranean Universities)" was launched this morning, Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Nalut University. The workshop was held in the auditorium of the College of Medical Technology in Nalut and witnessed high-level attendance from academic and administrative leaders at the university, in addition to deans of colleges, faculty members, heads of scientific departments, study and examination committees, scientific affairs deputies, and college registrars.

The workshop was chaired by Professor Dr. Khaled Aoun, President of the University of Tripoli, who, along with his accompanying team, presented a comprehensive and detailed presentation on the "Armonia" program. Attending the workshop were Professor Dr. Mahmoud Ahmed Al-Daik, Professor of History and International Relations at the University of Tripoli, Mr. President of Nalut University, Dr. Mohamed Masoud Qnan, the Dean of the Faculty Members, the General Secretary, the Registrar, the Director of the International Cooperation Office at the university, department heads, center directors, heads of scientific departments in the faculties, directors of study and examination offices, and deans of the faculties affiliated with Nalut University.

This pivotal event aims to highlight the "Armonia Educational" program, an ambitious initiative that seeks to enhance academic and research cooperation among countries in the Euro-Mediterranean region. The workshop provided a comprehensive overview of the program's objectives and the numerous opportunities it offers to Libyan academic institutions.

Professor Dr. Khaled Aoun, as a prominent academic figure with extensive experience in the field of international cooperation, provided a comprehensive explanation of the program's details. Dr. Aoun clarified how universities and research centers in Libya can benefit from this program to achieve academic and research excellence at both the regional and international levels. The workshop also addressed the practical aspects of joining the program and benefiting from exchange grants and joint cooperation in various academic and research fields.

This meeting is a valuable opportunity for all the colleges affiliated with Nalut University to closely learn about the international cooperation mechanisms available through the "Armonia" program. The program is expected to contribute to opening new horizons for academic and research partnerships with Euro-Mediterranean universities, thereby enhancing the role of Libyan universities on the international stage and supporting efforts to develop higher education in the country.

This workshop reaffirms Nalut University's commitment to developing its academic and administrative staff, and its diligent efforts to actively contribute to the global academic landscape by adopting programs and initiatives that enhance knowledge exchange and international cooperation.

At the conclusion of the workshop, a plaque and a certificate of appreciation were presented to Professor Dr. Khaled Aoun, President of the University of Tripoli, and to Professor Dr. Mahmoud Ahmed Al-Daik, in recognition of their valuable efforts in delivering this important program and enriching the workshop with their expertise.

Professor Dr. Mahmoud Ahmed Al-Daik also presented a copy of his book "The History of Libyan Diplomacy: 1551-1951" to the university president and the dean of the Faculty of Science and Arts - Ghadames, in a gesture that reflects knowledge exchange and encourages scientific research.
