On the morning of Sunday, January 7, 2024, a meeting was held at the council's headquarters in the capital, Tripoli. The meeting included Dr. Elias Abubakr Al-Barouni representing Nalut University, Dr. Abdul Salam Al-Aoud, Assistant Director General for Administrative and Financial Affairs and Acting Director General, Dr. Najib Al-Jreibi, Assistant Director General for Technical Affairs, and Mr. Khaled Al-Jazawi, the legal advisor to the council.
The meeting discussed ways to activate the joint cooperation agreement between Nalut University and the Economic and Social Development Council, which was signed on the sidelines of the First International Scientific Conference on Economic and Political Studies held at Nalut University on December 25-26, 2023.
The main items that were discussed between the two parties are:
▪︎ The university provides the council with research and studies that address economic and social issues.
▪︎ Working on implementing the recommendations reached by all the research, studies, seminars, and scientific conferences conducted by Nalut University..
▪︎ Enhancing cooperation between the two parties in the field of community service and the environment.
▪︎ Providing the council with a draft of the strategic vision for national reconciliation and transitional justice, in which the university participated in collaboration with the National Planning Council for its potential implementation.
At the end of the meeting, Dr. Elias Al-Barouni presented the conference shield to Dr. Najib Ali Al-Jraibi, Assistant General Director for Technical Affairs of the Council.
